Our Story

Birmingham – and most other cities for that matter – had never seen anything like The Club when it opened in 1951. The Birmingham News called it a “slice of fairyland...a festive occasion, in perfect taste, with an overall-plush dignity.” The National Architect called the building “magnificent,” and Alabama, the News Magazine of the South, billed it as “an architectural jewel in a setting of natural grandeur.”

Over the years, we have listened to our members and their ever-changing desires, and we have grown with them. Since 1951, we have expanded structurally and evolved our operations to best serve our growing membership. The Club, Inc. has been a conversation piece for nearly 75 years- a unique setting for dining, entertainment and functions of all kinds. Presently, The Club offers three distinct restaurants, ten private function spaces, and unbeatable indoor and outdoor dining space.

Our goal has and will always be to cherish traditions and be the place where you and your family come to create new ones that last a lifetime.

If visiting The View or Staterooms, please follow the signs for “The View and Staterooms” parking to the designated valet and self-park areas at the lower level.
